Brian Andrew Stephens – The Woodworker

Hi, Im Brian. I’m the introvert of the group. This works out pretty good because I don’t mind putting in hours in the shop and late nights of alone time. It gives me time to spend with the big guy praying or jamming out on my soundproof headphones. Us introverts are typically creative too, not to mention I’m left handed, which seems to tell people a lot about me I think it might be a super power.

My initials are BS which traumatized me as a child severely! Ha ha! Love you Mom and Dad but seriously?  I was raised by full time Assembly of God ministers who loved Jesus and taught me to do the same. I am a preachers kid but the rumors you hear about us got it all wrong. I’m one of the good ones.

I work as hard as I can every day to be creative and I don’t want anything to leave the shop without a good quality check. If you read the above statement, I don’t need to tell you what my priorities are. I’m grateful for my abilities and my family but I’m also grateful that God is bringing you into my life, even if just for a moment. Please connect with me on one of my social media channels or feel free to email me. If you had an amazing experience with Weathered Woodworking, then I want you to share it with all our friends.

Our Story

I’m Brian Andrew Stephens and I have always loved woodworking.  I have dabbled in woodworking since I was in my teens, but I never really thought of doing it as a business.

The beginning of the story of Weathered Woodworking takes us a few years back to 2020.  I started remodeling my home and I’m a do it yourself kind of guy so I got a small loan to start the process.  When Covid hit, the price of wood skyrocketed.  It stopped the remodel dead in its’ tracks but I started showing friends and family what I had already done and their reactions were priceless.

Friends and family started asking if I could build them different projects.  I couldn’t say no, so I started creating.  I even purchased a laser for more detailed work and started creating earrings, small tables, wooden signs, and more.

We did a few trade shows and really enjoying it.  This is still a small business but also a dream I want to see fulfilled.  Weathered Woodworking is more than just a business.  My prayer is that it can be a future for my kids, Adrian and Gavin.

In fact, let me introduce you to my family and the future of Weathered Woodworking.

What We Do

We make beautiful things out of wood.

Why

It’s our creative outlet!  Our creator gave us skills and we use them for this.

Mandi Stephens – The Talker

This is Mandi. She’s my wife of 23 years and my partner in this business. In fact, she’s right here as I’m typing to make sure I don’t talk normal but that I use proper etiquette and she will insist that she edits this before it goes out. Ha ha..

She is the only way I can function at public events because everyone loves Mandi and she loves to talk so it works out perfect. She is a kindergarten teacher, a Scentsy girl, a mom, and a woman of God..

She is also one of the biggest fans of my work. Too many times I have wanted to walk away but she simply wouldn’t let me because I make our home pretty. What’s important to me is important to her… God, family, and our people. I know she’s excited to meet you and you may just fall in love with her when you see her at one of our local events. Easy though, she’s taken.

Adrian – The Artist

This is Adrian.  She’s 23 and she has some amazing artistic skills, which play right into woodworking.  Before we create anything we have to design it and she’s got the skills to do just that.

Adrian has overcome a lot of obstacles.  When Adrian was three years old she was diagnosed with autism.  She was barely verbal.  She couldn’t make eye contact and it was difficult to communicate.  With a lot of persistent help we got her through it.  Autism doesn’t go away but she has done so much that the Dr.’s said she would never do.

Art has been her therapy.  She’s a master on Adobe Illustrator and Adobe photoshop and she’ll be a huge help to Weathered Woodworking.   I don’t want to say she’s normal because she’s pretty extrodinary.  Most people don’t even know she has autism.  She’s a great part of our team and I can’t imagine my family without her.

Gavin – The Comedian

This is my son Gavin. He’s 19 and he’s an amazing kid, oh sorry I mean MAN. He works hard and loves Jesus. He makes me proud and one day he’ll be the heir to Weathered Woodworking.

I love that as he grows up he’s becoming one of my greatest friends. We laugh a lot. No one can make you laugh like Gavin. He’s creative and he’s going to be a big part of the company.

He’s also single… Oops! Did I say that out loud? He’s also genuine and his bond with his friends are unbreakable. If I can get him to a live event, I will. He’s like his mom. Everyone loves Gavin.
